Rams Confirm Addison Is Out For The Season

It has been confirmed that Miles Addison has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a stress fracture of his foot.

“We will not be seeing him until pre-season now which is a blow but one we expected.

‘We are still not sure whether he will have surgery but the foot will be immobilised for a while and the most important thing at his age is to get it sorted.

“He has shown this season that whatever position – midfield or centre-back, and he looks more comfortable at centre-half at the moment – he has a big future and is certainly in the plans for next season and beyond.”

Nigel Clough was talking to the Evening Telegraph.

The 20-year-old has had a tremendous impact on our season, be that as a defender or a midfielder, so he will be missed for the final matches but his absence isn’t one that we have suddenly been surprised with as this has been expected for a week or more.

Addison will come back bigger and better next season and will have a major role to play again in what we will be hoping is a promotion push and not a struggle at the wrong end of the table.

There is better news on Nacer Barazite though as the on loan Arsenal teen is expected to be fit for the meeting with Bristol City on Saturday. The 18-year-old dislocated his shoulder against Forest and was another that was feared could be out for a long time but having come through some light training the Dutch midfielder should take his place in the Derby squad this weekend.
