Derby County have signed Max Hunt from Matlock Town on an eighteen month deal with the youngster linking up with the Under-23 side.

The 18-year-old defender spent time in the Academy at Nottingham Forest and Mansfield Town before moving to Matlock Town eighteen months ago and signed his first contract in July 2017. The 6-foot-6 youngster spent a spell on loan at Belper Town before making his Matlock debut in December. Having had a trial with The Rams and agreeing to a deal Hun told dcfc.co.uk:

“I`m happy to be here. I want to progress as much as possible and I have ambitions to just better myself every day and just work hard. At the same time, this is a great opportunity to work with some top-quality coaches every day. I want to be here for a long time. It`s a massive club, the set-up is fantastic, and I loved my time on trial.”
