Derby County has signed their sixth player of the current transfer window and this time it is a World Cup Winner in the form of Fikayo Tomori.
The 20-Year-old defender has joined the Rams on A season-long loan and will be a youthful addition to the central defender positions, adding height to the squad at 6ft 1inch.
Already a U20 World Cup winner with England in 2017 as they beat Venusuala to win the only International trophy England’s men’s team has won since 1966.
Tomori’s talents don’t stop at being a World Champion, at the tender age of 20 he has already helped Brighton and Hove Albion win promotion to the Premiership and also helped Hull City retain their Championship status last season.
Other notable achievements for Tomori include back to back FA Youth Cups and a UEFA Youth Cup win with the Chelsea U23 sides. The Chelsea honours came when Jody Morris was the Chelsea youth team coach and Tomori is very happy to be reunited with Morris and hopes the success they had together can be added to with the Rams.
Tomori is also an International in more than one sense of the word, being born in Canada then moving to England as a baby. He also has Nigerian parentage, so England was very lucky to have in the side when winning the U20 World Cup.
