Derby County have a relaxed opening day of pre-season training at Moor Farm

Day one of pre-season training seemed to go well with FrankĀ  Lampard and Jody Morris meeting their new charges and making connections to the whole squad.

The atmosphere all seemed low key in the glorious June sunshine but then the work started, but it still seemed to be quite enjoyable for most.

Rams goalkeeper Scott Carson is pleased with the appointment of new goalkeeping coach Shay Given, the former Irish Republic, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Stoke City keeper will join the Rams soon and Carson is very confident his experience and coaching will be good for him personally and the club.

Here is what the official Derby County Twitter account tweeted on the arrival of the players yesterday, Curtis Davies seems very upbeat as he arrives. Does this indicate he will not, as rumoured, be joining Gary Rowett at Stoke City?
