Derby County have today agreed a fee with Arsenal for England U19 winger Ryan Smith.

Manager Billy Davies told www.dcfc.co.uk: ‘We’re down to the final details of negotiations with player and agent, and we are hoping that within the next two or three days that it can be concluded,’

‘We would like him in the squad for Saturday (v Bolton) so fingers crossed.

‘It is a great opportunity for him, he would be a great addition for us, and we are hoping we can get him on board.’

No details have yet been released regarding the fee involved.

  • Good luck with this one folks. Looks like you have now got your hands on the type of player that Norwich (and a lot of other clubs) would love to have.

  • Great player with great potential. Billy Davies is pulling through with flying colours. Exactly my type of player and finally we are the envy of some clubs. Let’s hope he does sign and his current team-mate Lupoli joins on loan too! Come on you Rams!

  • Have you heard the rumor that Chelsea is buying Freddy Adu and loaning him to your club for the 1st ½ of the season?
