The Rams are sitting top of the Championship and everything looks rosy at Pride Park, but with success comes the rumours. The club has been in the middle of newspaper reports of unrest in the player group, also manager Billy Davies at loggerheads with the Chairman. The club have denied these reports and it seems the clubs little hic-up of three defeats in a row has passed.

But again the media is reporting of transfers in an out of Pride Park, something the club could do without at this critical time of the season. The Giles Barnes saga continues with reports, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Rangers and every club in the Northern Hemisphere, are all going to buy him. The club again has said no offer has been forthcoming on Barnes, and he is a VITAL member of the Rams squad.

Today it was reported if the Rams are not successful in their promotion campaign, Steve Howard will be leaving the club. The big striker is a fans favorite at Pride Park since his £1m move from Luton last year. He has scored 15 goals this season and it has obviously not gone unnoticed in the Premier League. It`s reported Blackburn are poised with a ‘shock` bid for the 30-year-old striker. The shock I see is a ‘shocking` rumour

It`s also reported that the Rams are closing in on Spanish striker Nacho Novo for next season. The 27-year-old is out of contract with Scottish Premier League side Rangers at the end of the season, when he is expected to depart Ibrox on a Bosman free transfer.
The report goes on saying, that Rams boss Billy Davies tried and failed to sign the striker in the January transfer window, and Davies has since revived the move and Novo is tipped to sign for Derby in the summer. I`m sure it news to Billy too!!!!

I`m sure Davies will have the players focused on one thing only, Friday nights clash with Birmingham City live on Sky Sports. The clubs directors have helped Davies plans by hiring a plane to take the players and official to Norwich this week, to make sure they are fresher for the ‘Top-of-the-Table` clash. The only way to stop these rumours is a place in the Premiership, and a victory on Friday will take the Rams one big step closer to this.
