Pride Park cup invasion from Rovers

The FA cup fourth round tie at Pride Park Stadium is set to become an FA Cup cauldron on Saturday with 5,800 Bristol Rovers fans reportedly making their way up to Derby from the south west. The league two side has asked for more tickets, but after consultation with the police this was not forth coming. The Pirates fans have taken all their allotted ticket allocation and will bolster the crowd for the clash, adding to the 9,000 Rams season ticket holders who have purchased tickets for the game. The club are expected a crowd in excess of 25,000 for the game. The window when season ticket holders could buy their own seats for the Rovers clash has now passed – so all remaining seats are now up for grabs, and Billy and the boys will be hoping for a big crowd.

The Rovers side is managed by ex-Ram Paul Trollope, and he brings his side to Pride Park full of confidence, with them sitting just outside the League 2 play-off places.

The Rams officials have had some security concerns with the tickets for Rovers selling out. The Pride Park officials have issued a warning after learning that some Rovers supporters without tickets were planning on attending the fixture and watching the game amongst the Rams fans. But stewards at the stadium will be on the lookout for away supporters sitting in the wrong area, and they’ll be given clear instructions on what to do should Rovers supporters be identified. A Rams official said: “There will be no sales for visiting supporters on the day and if found in home areas they will be ejected by the stewards without a refund.”
