Tyrone Mears is in line for the Premier League move that he wants with Portsmouth believed to be lining him up as the replacement for outward bound Glen Johnson.

Mears isn’t a favourite at Pride Park after his actions last summer and despite public views that the defender would be given a chance over the summer following his return from Marseille, where he’d been on loan, privately it is commonly believed that a buyer for the Jamaican international has been sought.

Portsmouth are believed to be willing to spend some of the money they get from the big money departure of Johnson to sign Mears for £750,000!
