The academy staff has been increased once more with John Perkins the latest to take up a post.

Nigel Clough is happy to have another familiar face onboard, as he worked with Perkins at Forest during his own time their as a player.

“John is a top operator whose knowledge of youth football in the Midlands is unrivalled.

“He brings vast experience and expertise but also a passion for the game and an enthusiasm for finding and developing talented young players.

“It is a fantastic addition to the club.”

Clough was talking to the Evening Telegraph.

Perkins was the assistant academy manager of the under 16 – under 18 youth team at Wolves, from whom he joins us, having worked for them since 2000 when he joined Wolves from our rivals Forest.
