Sheffield United seem to be putting together a bid for Rams striker David Nugent.
Nugent is 33 years old but is still a decent Championship striker, but with the arrival of Frank Lampard, his days in the starting line up for Derby County could be limited.
Lampard has already freshened up the midfield, bringing in younger players to complement the established players in the squad and is thought to want to bring in more youth in the striking areas.
Sheffield United are eager to bring in striker options before the transfer window closed in early August, so a deal may well be on the cards for Nugent. With nearly 600 senior appearances for clubs varying from Bury, Preston, Portsmouth, Leicester and Middlesbrough, he has a wealth of experience and maybe the best option for all concerned.
