Patrick Kisnorbo looks like he’ll be staying with Derby however another trialist, Mark Fotheringham, isn’t going to be offer a contract by Nigel Clough.

Clough doesn’t think that Fotheringham is any better than the central midfielders that we already have, so isn’t going to offer him a contract, but we’ll still be looking to bring in a Premier League quality player on loan.

“I have had a chat with Mark and the problem is we have got three central midfielders, good ones in Paul Green, Robbie Savage and Stephen Pearson, all of them on contract.

So we probably cannot pursue anything with Mark but for a week I have never seen a trialist come in and work as hard as he has.”

Clough was talking to the Evening Telegraph.

The 25-year-old former Norwich midfielder had been training with the Rams last week, and despite a good performance against Burton, it wasn’t enough to earn him a contract.
