A moment of madness by Rams new signing Craig Fagan at St Mary`s on Saturday has landed him in trouble with the FA. He kicked the ball away after the Rams were penalised by referee Jonathan Moss and received a yellow card, and he now faces a two-match ban. Fagan collected eight yellow cards while playing for Hull City this season and has picked up two more since joining the Rams last month.

His 10th came in Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Southampton, taking him over the threshold for a second ban of the campaign. The reaction of Rams boss Billy Davies on the sidelines said it all, he was fuming and kicked a drink bottle down the touch-line in frustration, and replaced him shortly after with Giles Barnes.

With the Rams playing his former club, Hull City next week, a part of the clause in the transfer mean Fagan is unavailable for the game anyway, and he will also miss the FA Cup fifth round tie away to Plymouth Argyle

When Fagan arrived at Pride Park Davies said he wanted to see him cut out the silly bookings, I don`t think he was listening!!!
Davies then said: “Craig picks up stupid, needless bookings which is something we need to remove from his game and we will have a quiet word in his ear and tell him what we expect..
‘When you play with your heart on your sleeve as Craig does, this is what can happen.
‘A lot of his bookings have been for silly things and not rash tackles. He can control his emotions on the pitch but we don’t want to curb his enthusiasm because that’s the way he is.
‘He cares, he is passionate and that’s what we want to see in a Derby County shirt.’

After Davies reaction on Saturday, I`m sure he will be having another word with Fagan.
