Derby County is looking to the future by giving a new two-year contract to utility player Jamie Hanson.
The 22-year-old is a valuable asset being able to play in defense or in midfield. These are areas the Rams may be looking to add talent or replace older players.
The award may be seen by some as rewarding failure after several low key defeats to lower league opposition, but Hanson has been fighting back from injury which plagued his early season. Hanson is now looking forward to getting a first-team spot and keeping it, even if that has to be in next season Derby County squad.
Hanson was loaned out last season to Wigan where he made 17 appearances
