Tony Mowbray, the former West Bromwich Albion boss who is now in charge of Celtic, has said that the Scottish club haven’t shown an interest in Kris Commons.

Celtic have been linked with a £3.5m move for Commons but Mowbray has rejected these reports.

“I saw that running the other day and I’m not sure where that has come from.

He’s not a player we have discussed.

It’s the power of TV. The whole world believes something if they see it running across their screens.

If I was a supporter, I would probably have believed it also.”

Mowbray was talking to Sky Sports.

I’m happy with that, if Celtic don’t want the 24-year-old I’m more than happy as I’d rather Derby kept the Scottish international instead of taking a good money offer anyway, aren’t you?
