Striker Chris Maguire has made his predicted exit from Pride Park having joined Sheffield Wednesday in a deal that is believed to be in the region of £250,000.

Having joined The Rams last summer things did not work out for the former Aberdeen striker and despite having scored two goals in three starts he went on to make only eight appearances in total before spending the last months of the season on loan at Portsmouth. Rumours of a falling out with Nigel Clough were never far away and having put pen to paper on a three year deal Maguire made it clear he did not think he had been given a chance by Clough to prove himself telling Radio Sheffield:

‘I wasn’t given a fair chance at the club. I scored two goals in three starts and I don’t think there was much more I could have done. I’m happy to be out. I ended up playing in the reserves and training with kids. I don’t know what went wrong there really. I asked Nigel Clough if there was a problem and I don’t think he liked that.”
