The local consortium headed by former director Peter Gadsby has made a formal bid for The Rams. They are looking to make a ?significant personal investment’ into the club. Tabling the offer on Thursday, the consortium announced that they hoped funds could be made available for new players providing the finances could be sorted out.
The priority for the new investment group is to choose the right manager for Derby County, group member Mike Horton previously involved with Derbyshire Cricket Club told the BBC ?we need a good manager who has longevity to give the supporters a boost?. With all the backroom activity going on, Derby and have not been able to progress on the field and the appointment of the right sort of manager would go a long way, they hope, to solving this issue.
Horton also said that there were ?issues as to where the money (at Derby) was going? It will be interesting to see what comes out in the wash once the current incumbents of Derby County have left.

On a different tack Robert Maxwell it seems was being investigated for war crimes at the time of his death. Maxwell who served with the British and won the MC during WW2, was being investigated for the shooting of an unarmed civilian in April 1945
