Adam Legzdins is Derby County`s first choice goalkeeper on merit at the moment according to manager Nigel Clough who praised the former Burton Albion players form in his run on the side.

Legzdins was used as a back-up to Frank Fielding during his first season at the club and started this season on the bench but after Fielding suffered a groin injury in the match at the Riverside Stadium against Middlesbrough he was drafted into the side and grasped the chance with both hands. Legzdins has now made fourteen starts in a row and kept his third clean sheet in the 2-0 victory against Bristol City. Talking to the Derby Evening Telegraph about Legzdins` run in the side Clough said:

‘He’s ahead of Frank at the moment in terms of he’s got the jersey. The team are playing OK and we don’t make knee-jerk reactions when we lose a game or he makes the odd mistake. We try to give players every chance to prove themselves.’
