Frank Lampard was an impressive player during his career but is steadily proving he has what it takes to be a manager. Since the announcement of his appointment yesterday he has conducted many interviews and looked accomplished whilst doing so. Never ruffed, calm and exuding confidence.

He has met fans, posed for photographs and has explained what he intends to do for the club and its supporters, all in an exhausting twenty-four hours.
More plausible could be the help in loan players from Lampardâs former employers. Tammy Abrahams may be one loanee that would bring an attacking option to the Rams, but that again is one for Lampard to look at.
A big plus to Lampardâs efforts at Pride Park must be his right-hand man, Jody Morris, the former Chelsea U18 coach has had great success with his charges and will help Lampard in bringing through some of the Rams U23 and youth team hopefuls, something that previous managers havenât done despite the insistence from Mel Morris that this is something he, as owner wants for the club.
So twenty-four hours in and all good news for Derby County.
