Richard Keogh has backed goalkeeper Adam Legzdins following his mistake that cost The Rams a goal in their defeat to Peterborough United.

With Derby already a goal behind and down to ten men the former Burton Albion keeper let a shot from Saido Berhino through his grasp with four minutes to go to clinch the win for the home side with the on-loan striker adding another in added on time to complete the scoring. Legzdins made a number of important saves in the match, including a penalty from Lee Tomlin, and Keogh knows that Derby’s defeat was not down to the keeper. Talking to the Derby Evening Telegraph about the player Keogh said:

‘I told Adam not to worry about that. He’s been fantastic since he came in and has made some really important saves in certain games. It was one of those freak things – if he did it 10 more times, I think he would catch it every time. He’s got to not let that affect him. It wasn’t his fault we lost that game.’
