David Jones has finally completed his move away from Pride Park to sign for Wolves for £1m.

Upon his departure Paul Jewell paid tribute to him, but he just wasn’t in his restructuring plans, which are now in full swing.

‘David is a cracking lad and has done very well for this football club, but it’s a change which is another part of the re-building process here at Derby County.

‘My focus is on continuing to reshape the squad for the challenge of a promotion battle this coming season.’

Jewell was speaking to the official website.

I wish Jones well. His leaving does not come as any surprise at all, the only real surprise is that it has taken so long for him to finally leave Derby.

  • I wish Paul Green all the best at Derby. I am sure we will give him a great recpetion when we come to Derby on the first day.

  • Hopefully so for his sake as he spent a long time with you didn’t he. Not all fans might be as forgiving though?
