Derby finally broke a winless stretch in the league spanning fixtures that would virtually amount to a full season with a 2-1 win over Sheffield United, much to Paul Jewell’s, and everyone else’s relief.

‘It was a big game, we played well and created chances, and deserved to win.

‘There were times when I thought it was not going to be our night but the players showed great resilience.

‘Hopefully, we can now go on and have a decent season.’

Jewell was talking to the Evening Telegraph.

Rob Hulse scored his first Derby goal against his former club 20 minutes from time to secure our first league win in 37 league matches, almost a full calendar year. This win also lifted us off the foot of the Championship season and will now hopefully see an improvement in fortunes and a climb up the table!
