Michael Jacobs played the full ninety minutes in the defeat to Crystal Palace at the weekend and was pleased to get a full match under his belt despite his disappointment at the final result.

Jacobs joined from Northampton Town during the summer for an undisclosed fee and he has had to bide his time in his pursuit of a first team place as he looks to make the step up to the Championship. The midfielder has made fourteen appearances so far this season, most of them from the bench, and had not yet made it through a full ninety minutes in the league until this weekend. Talking to the Derby Evening Telegraph about the match Jacobs said:

‘I had done 70 and 75 minutes but not a 90, so it’s another stepping stone for me in my career and I’m learning how to play in the Championship. You have to learn. There are a lot of positives I can take from my performance but I also know I have got to get the ball into the box and create chances for team-mates. I’ll learn from the Palace game and hopefully I can take it into next week, if I’m picked.’
