Will Hughes praised Derby County`s spirit as they fought back to earn a point with Theo Robinson`s late equaliser against Blackburn Rovers.

Having fallen behind to a smart strike from Jordan Rhodes in a firsthalf the visitors had the better of The Rams stepped things up in the second period and went at their opponents in the last twenty minutes. After Michael Jacobs and Jake Buxton both came close Paul Robinson made a superb reflex save from Nathan Tyson and then again moments later to deny Craig Bryson but Robinson`s follow-up beat the former England international to earn a point for his side. Hughes believes that the spirit shown by his side to come back into the game meant they deserved a point telling the Derby Evening Telegraph:

“I think our team spirit showed. We kept going. When you are 1-0 down, it is not easy but we battled hard and deserved it in the end. In the second half, and especially towards the end of the game, we showed how much we wanted it and we did well to secure a point.”
