Frank Lampard returns from World Cup punditry duties to start pre-season training with the Rams

Yes, World Cup duties with the BBC now complete Frank Lampard starts on his main job, managing Derby County football club.

Lampard was contracted to comment on five matches during the first stages of the competition. He gave expert analysis and comment on both England games against Tunisia (2-1) and yesterdays thrilling 6-1 England win.

Frank then went on to give his views on the Spain Portugal game, Serbia v Switzerland and Belgium v Panama.

He will land back in the UK today and take up his role at Pride Park, where he teams up again with Jody Morris, who is a major coup for the Rams and an able assistant to Lampard. Tthe pair will take pre-season training this week as all of the Rams players report back from their short summer holidays and get down to the hard work of preparing for the coming season.

Derby will start the season off as they travel to Reading on Friday 3rd August for the televised opening match of the Championship season 2018-19.
