Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell has clarified the situation regarding Sean Gregan, who has been targeted by the Elland Road boo boys.

Blackwell told the Evening Post: ‘What’s happened to Sean has been uncalled for.

‘I heard it again on Saturday and he doesn’t deserve it.

‘We win together and lose together here.

‘Sean [Gregan] has had a lot of unnecessary grief since he came to Leeds, and that baffles me.

‘He did exceptionally well last season and this year, Greges and Paul Butler were the platform for us.

‘People have to remember that the players who came here, came here for the right reasons.

‘I do find it strange that we were cheered off in the Premier League after a terrible time of things, yet lads like Sean get undeserved stick.’

‘I value Sean as a good member of the squad. However, I do understand that he wants to play regular football.

‘I have to look at everything on its merits and will deal with everything as I see fit.

‘At this stage I am not aware that either Derby or Hull have made their interest known, so I am treating it as speculation. If anything comes up, both Sean and I will discuss the situation as and when.’
