Giles Barnes’ move to Fulham could be back on after he claimed the Premier League side were back in for him over a possible £2m switch after he completed his recovery from injury.

“I’ve been told that Fulham have gone back to Derby a couple of times since I returned – but it’s all down to price.

If it comes off, that would be great – but I’m a Derby player and they’ve looked after me, and I’d be happy to stay here if it’s not meant to be.”

Fulham are concerned about his injury problems and if we ask too much that would put the deal in doubt, but the midfielder insists that he is almost ready having tried too hard to get fit.

“If anything, I’ve worked so hard on my fitness I’m almost match ready.”

The 20-year-old has made no secret of his desire to play in the Premier League again and if a fee can be agreed I’m sure that he’ll at least get the move to have a chance of doing this again, but Barnes will go on our terms.
