Former Rams loanee going to other Championship club this season

|

Going to Blackburn, but was he a hit or a miss whilst at Derby County?

Kasey Palmer, spent time on loan last season with Derby County from his parent club Chelsea. He played 16 times for the Rams, scored 2 goals and one assist and was widely tipped to be another of Frank Lampard’s Chelsea contingent on loan at Pride Park for the coming season.

Blackburn Rovers who were promoted to the Championship last season after gaining automatic promotion has launched a bid to take the 21-year-old Palmer on a 4-month loan at Ewood Park. An announcement on the situation is due soon.

Palmer was a quick and lively midfielder when he joined the Rams and his energy helped to get the Rams into the final play-off position at the end of the season after the Rams faulted after the Christmas period. Gary Rowett has been criticised by fans for not playing Palmer more during his loan spell, other fans say he wasn’t good enough to nail down a permanent position with the Rams.

What’s your viewpoint on Palmer? was he a hit or a miss for Derby County and has Frank let this Chelsea player through his fingers? Add your comments at the bottom of this article or join us in the Vital Rams Forum, for a lengthier discussion.
