Frank Fielding and the England under-21`s were less than five minutes away from the semi-finals of the European Championships in Denmark last night but late goals from Jan Chramosta and Tomas Pekhart saw the Czech Republic snatch a late victory to progress in their place.

Needing a victory in their final group match after two consecutive draws Fielding pulled off a wonderful save from Lukas Marecek’s stinging volley early on and England took the lead with thirteen minutes to go when Danny Welbeck scored his second goal of the tournament. Fielding`s side couldn`t see the game out though and Chramosta came off the bench to level scores from close range and Pekhart finished the job on the break as the young English side chased a winning goal. It was a disappointing result after England reached the semi-finals in the last two tournaments, finishing runners-up to Germany last time out.
