Frank Fielding could be on the verge of joining Bristol City after the clubs agreed on a fee and the former England Under-21 goalkeeper passed a medical.

The fee is believed to be around the £200,000 mark with add-ons and whilst talks are still on-going over personal terms but it looks as though the deal could be pushed through next week. Fielding joined The Rams in the summer of 2011 after two successful loan spells and made 80 appearances over the following two seasons where he competed with Adam Legzdins for the starting spot. Despite showing early promise Fielding did not progress during his time at Pride Park where his decision making could be suspect and he was left out of the side for a long period last season as Legzdins took his place between the sticks.

With neither keeper establishing themselves over the closing months of the season Nigel Clough wasted no time in bringing former Derby keeper Lee Grant back to the club for some added experience. Clough stated that the club would be open to offers for either of the two first team keepers at the club and Fielding looks set to the be the first one to find himself a new club.
