Gary Rowett said that Derby County`s form at the start of the game was key in their comfortable 3-1 victory over Wolves at the weekend.

The Rams came out flying at the start of the match and had chances before David Nugent and Bradley Johnson stuck to give them a two goal lead after half-an-hour. Rowett told dcfc.co.uk that the quick start was as good as he`s seen from his side since taking charge in March saying:

“I thought we started the game really, really, well; as good as we`ve started a game since I`ve been here. We were very good and got a terrific goal through David Nugent. We got into some really great positions and I think the plan worked. We wanted our wide players to play a little wider because of our two advanced midfielders to see if we could get some more threatening balls in the box.”
