John Eustace has put pen to paper on a one year deal that will take effect from August 1st and has become Nigel Clough`s fifth signing of the summer to add a little more experience to his Derby County squad.

Having trained with The Rams after being released by Watford all of the signs pointed towards Eustace moving to Pride Park on a permanent basis having previously also spent a spell on loan before signing a new deal at Vicarage Road. Watford had offered Eustace a coaching role but the midfielder was not quite yet ready to hang up his boots and the short-term deal has offered him a chance to extend his playing career. Talking to dcfc.co.uk about the deal Eustace said:

“I am delighted to be joining a massive club with a good set of lads and I am really excited to get going. During my time at Watford, I was there with a very young squad and I was always the older player in that group. I helped a lot of the young lads through – and they helped me too! So if we can all work together and help get three points every week for Derby, then that is the main thing.”
