Nathan Ellington could be left in limbo this summer as Watford have made it clear that he isn’t part of their future plans and it also appears that Nigel Clough wont be looking to sign him either.

“If Derby don’t want to sign him then there is the possibility that he will come back.

“However, I have made it clear to the club that Nathan’s future would lie elsewhere.”

Watford manager Brendan Rodgers was talking to the Watford Observer.

Ellington cost Watford a club record fee of £3.25m when he was signed in August 2007 but he struggled with them, scoring just four goals last season, and he has also struggled for us since being signed on a season loan by former manager Paul Jewell last summer.

Derby have the option of signing the striker on a free transfer at the end of his loan spell but with him only featuring twice in 2009 this doesn’t look likely so he’ll be going back to Watford, with it being their problems to deal with!
