Derby County`s Conor Doyle has joined MLS side DC United until the end of the American season in order to gain some game time this year.

The American Under-23 international had been training with Colorado Rapids with a view to a loan spell with the team but under MLS rules Doyle was offered to a number of teams who wished to sign the attacker and DC United acquired his playing rights in a lottery process. The Washington based side are currently bottom of the Eastern Conference and Doyle will join them until at least the end of October when the MLS regular season ends. Talking to dcfc.co.uk about the deal Nigel Clough said:

“It`s taken a little while to get a deal sorted but we`re pleased that Conor will be able to spend some time with DC United and get some games under his belt. He`s at the stage where he needs to play some regular football to continue to develop as a player and we`ll watch how he does with interest.”
