Derby County managing director Mike Horton has expressed his disappointment at being unable to sign 29 year old Kansas City Wizards striker Josh Wolff.

Wolff, capped 51 times by his country, had agreed terms with the Rams after the club agreed a fee of of $500,000 (approximately £340,000) with Major League Soccer. However the deal collapsed as Wolff has not played sufficient games for his country this year.

Horton and Rams manager Billy Davies will now look at other options prior to tomorrow’s transfer deadline.
