Good news for Derby supporters, two of the clubs most influential players have made a big leap to recovery as they both played in the 3 ? 1 defeat to Mansfield Town this afternoon at Moor Farm.

Both players have been suffering from knee injuries and have been out for well over 2 months, but looked good in the game. Manager Terry Westley was very pleased, afterwards he spoke to the official website ?they both got through the game and that was the pleasing aspect? said Westley ?Michael came off late as he got a bang to the head, but in terms of their knees they both came through? Westley was obviously very happy that two of his senior players are available for selection. ?You don?t leave your best players out of the team? he said ? they have both proved today that they are available for selection?

Elsewhere on the pitch Lloyd Dyer continues to progress, although he did miss 3 chances today. He played in his preferred position of wide left rather than at left back. Again speaking to dcfc.co.uk Westley stated ?(Dyer) has done well in training and is better playing wide left where he is happiest.? Dyer would be a good signing for Derby as we only have Lee Holmes to cover that position.

Charlton Athletics? 18 year old left sided player James Walker also played the last 14 minutes for Derby, coming on in place of Holmes.
