Derby County v Blackburn Rovers Preview

Frank Lampard could be in the stands tonight following his sending off in Saturday’s match with Rotherham

Derby County have a chance to redeem themselves after the lacklustre defeat to Rotherham at the weekend but will be without Tom Lawrence following his sending off in the same Rotherham defeat. The straight red card means Lawrence will not feature for the Rams for three matches.

Also missing could be Frank Lampard, the Rams manager was again sent off for leaving his technical area to have words with one of Referee Petr Banks assistant. Frank has also been charged by the FA with improper conduct so could be banished to the stands for tonight’s game.

Other notable absentees are Curtis Davies, still recovering from a hamstring problem and George Evans will continue working on his knee problem.

The good news for the Rams is they could have David Nugent and Craig Bryson may be in contention for a place in tonight’s squad.

Tony Mowbray had some kind words for Frank Lampard on his sending off, stating “I think it’s enthusiasm,” Mowbray told the Lancashire Telegraph”.“He is a young manager with a huge pedigree, he wants to win games.
“At times there will be frustration, as there is with all of us”.
