Derby County sign Liverpool winger on loan for the season

The Rams have had their bid to loan Liverpool’s young winger, Harry Wilson accepted and he will join up with the rest of Frank Lampard’s new looking squad for the season.

Twenty-one-year-old Wilson was wanted by over 12 clubs, one of which was Stoke City, now managed under former Rams boss Gary Rowett. Other former Premiership clubs, Swansea and West Bromwich Albion also enquired about Wilson. Jurgen Klopp was also inundated by over half the Championship clubs for Wilson’s services.

Klopp is also pleased that Wilson will be getting regular football in the Championship rather than going on loan to another Premiership team. Having spent the latter half of the season on loan last season with Hull City and having rave reviews on his performances, he will be a potent threat in the Rams attack in the coming season, something Frank Lampard was looking to improve on.
