Derby County pre-season friendly games 2018-19 season

|

Derby County has announced the names and dates of the three pre-season friendly games the Rams will be playing prior to the 2018-19 season kick-off.

The theme is distinctly Midlands flavoured as Derby start the campaign with a short trip down to Meadow Lane and Notts County for their first game. This will take place on Saturday 14th July 2018, with a 3.00pm kick-off, no doubt a huge following will want to witness the first game of Frank Lampard’s reign. The League two side made it to the League Two play-off semi-finals last season.

Second on the list is another away journey, this time to the West Midlands and newly promoted Coventry City. The sky blues won this season’s League Two play-off final at Wembley, beating Exeter City to move to League One next season. The game is an evening kick-off at 7.45pm and played on Wednesday 25th July.

Staying with the Midland theme Derby County’s toughest pre-season game will undoubtedly be against Championship Champions and newly installed Premiership side, Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Wolves walked the Championship last season and their manager Nuno Espirito Santo will bring his side to Pride Park on Saturday 28th July, with a 3.00pm kick-off time.
