Derby County acted late in the day in the transfer window to bring in Kasey Palmer on loand from Chelsea for the rest of the season.

Palmer spent time on loan at Huddersfield Town and made 27 appearances despite spending four months sidelined with injury as they won promotion to the Premiership last season. He went back on loan this season but with playing time limited he returned to Stamford Bridge and has now moved to Pride Park until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder has represented England at all levels from Under-17 to Under-21 and was part of the site that won the Toulon Tournament in 2016. Talking to dcfc.co.uk about the deal Palmer said:

“The club is in a great position. It`s a big club, the facilities are superb, and the manager and team are doing some really good things here. This is a club that deserves to be in the Premier League. Everything is set for it to finally get back there and I hope I can add something to the group that will help them get over the line. As soon as I heard that this was a possibility, I was keen to get it over the line and as we all know Deadline Day is busy, is full of twists and turns, but I`m delighted to be here now.”
