The tribunal hearing, scheduled for Tuesday, to determine the fee that we will have to pay for Stephen Davies has been postponed until a later date, much to the anger of Derby County.

‘The reason for the cancellation has not been confirmed directly by Ms Rogers as the Football League board has not been able to contact directly one of its own directors and member club chairman to ascertain the details for the requested postponement.

‘Derby County is staggered at this decision which extends the uncertainty for the player concerned and makes a mockery of all the time and work the club has undertaken in preparing for this assessment tribunal over the summer months.’

Read a statement on the official website.

This tribunal, which is required as Davies is under the age of 24 therefore Tranmere are entitled to compensation was cancelled as Lorraine Rogers, who incidentally is Tranmere’s chairman as well as a member of the Football League’s board of directors, is unavailable due to a holiday!
