Derby will be without skipper Paul Connolly for a month due to a knee injury picked up against Derby last Monday, much to Paul Jewell’s obvious disappointment.

‘It’s a big blow for us – he has been consistent in the team and a very steady player.’

Jewell was talking to BBC Radio Derby.

The 25-year-old was signed from Championship rivals Plymouth in the summer and had been an ever present before his injury, which meant he missed the win against Watford on Saturday and will now also miss several more matches.
