Commons looking for the right recipe for Rams

Rams Scottish international midfielder Kris Commons has been cooking up the right mixture on the pitch at Pride Park and he has been doing the same off it too. The 24-year-old is hoping to cook up a promotion challenge for Paul Jewell`s – as a qualified chef.

Commons has an NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation and Cooking after studying for two years at West Nottinghamshire College when he was a trainee at Stoke City.

He`s enjoying his time at Pride Park and enjoys his time in the kitchen. ‘When I was in the youth team at Stoke I was given the choice from two courses to study at college, and I thought cooking would be far better than sports science,” said Commons.

“I thought it would be more useful for later life. I went to college for two years twice a week and got quite good at it.

‘I can cook pretty much everything but to take it to the next level you’d have to be up there with Gordon Ramsay!” joked Commons.

He has cooked up some good performance on the pitch in his first season for the Rams and say`s he can turn his hand to anything in the kitchen.

“I cook all sorts from steaks to spaghetti bolognese. My speciality has got to be apple crumble! I like to get my fingers in the pastry and the flour,” added Commons.

He will hope to make it a special year at Pride Park, and make the Forest fans eat humble pie at season`s end!!!!

“‘I moved for the right reasons and now we’re moving up in the table it seems like it was the right decision,” said Commons.
