Derby continue to deny rumours linking Kris Commons with a move away from the club after a reported £3.5m interest from Celtic.

However a club spokesman has admitted that the 25-year-old is attracting the attentions of others but haven’t received any offers.

“There has been no formal bid, but we are aware of interest from a number of clubs.”

The club spokesman was speaking to Sky Sports.

The Scottish international isn’t taking any notice of the speculation and unless he’s told otherwise Commons isn’t planning on leaving Derby.

“There are plenty of people telling me that this club or that club is after me, but it’s just in the papers. It’s got nothing to do with me.

It just goes in one ear and out the other. I am concentrating on this pre-season and getting as fit as I can to be ready for the first game.

Unless Derby pull me to one side and say they have accepted an offer for me, then I am here for the next two years – guaranteed.

I ignore the speculation and get on with playing for Derby.”

Commons was talking to the Evening Telegraph.

Newcastle and Wigan are other clubs that have been linked with Commons since January. If a £3.5m offer did come in for the midfielder would this be the silly money offer we’ve said we’d accept though?
