At 1-0 down at half time against Coventry on Friday our season looked to be going from bad to worse but we fought back to secure a vital 2-1 win.

Nigel Clough feels that we showed a lot of character to come back from behind and got the result that we deserved at Pride Park.

“We showed a lot of character second half. We didn’t deserve to go in one-nil down at half time.

I think they didn’t have too many efforts and we started the game pretty brightly and had a couple of chances ourselves.

But one-nil down at half-time. Then a little bit of character, everybody was available second-half, everybody wanted the ball, hence we got the result.”

Rob Hulse’s double, which could’ve been a hat-trick had he not missed a penalty, secured the win but Clough is still looking for improvement, which he’d asked for at half time in this match.

“We needed the back four to have the ball a little bit more and take a bit more care with it, Dean Moxey to get into his stride and get forward.

Second-half very good indeed.”

Clough was talking to Sky Sports after the match.

Boy did we, and some would say Clough, need that win! We now have to hope that it can spark some results to match the play that we have seen a fair amount this season without reward.
