Nigel Clough says that Frank Fielding needs to be patient in his bid to reclaim the goalkeeper position for Derby County after Adam Legzdins has done well during his spell in the side.

Fielding has been first choice at Pride Park since he joined The Rams on a permanent deal from Blackburn Rovers prior to the start of the 2011/12 season only missing two games through injury and suspension. After Fielding injured his groin against Middlesbrough earlier this season Adam Legzdins was given his chance in the side and he has started the last thirteen games even with Fielding`s return to full fitness. Talking to the Derby Evening Telegraph about the goalkeeping situation Clough said:

‘Frank has had it where he was number one for 18 months and Adam had to be patient. Adam has got his chance because of an injury and now Frank has to be patient and support Adam as best he can, and he does that. Frank is an excellent goalkeeper and we have got two excellent keepers, so he has just got to be patient.’
