Nigel Clough has spoken of his desire to recruit early this summer in order to show the Derby County faithful that they mean business and following the captures of Jamie Ward, Frank Fielding and Theo Robinson he has promised there is more to come. Much has been made of the money back guarantee on season tickets with anyone not happy with the summer recruitment being entitled to claim a full refund ahead of kick-off in August and now it`s time for Clough and the Derby board to show their intentions. With the three signings in place and rumours of an experienced Championship midfielder on his way Clough has stated that this is an important summer as he looks to improve the side with a number of new signings and he told the official site:

‘It is hard to put an exact number on how many players we expect to bring in this summer, but around half a dozen, maybe more, is what we are working towards.’

‘It is a big time for us this summer. We have had a few seasons of survival, and now we need to take it on to the next level and improve. Anyone who saw us this season will agree that half a dozen players to improve us will make a big difference.’
