Derby County will not rush into making any more additions to their squad as they prepare to return for pre-season next week. Nigel Clough has already brought in five new faces since the transfer window re-opened with the addition of Gareth Roberts, Tomasz Cywka, James Bailey, John Brayford and David Martin but Clough told the official website that they will bide their time before bringing in further signings:

‘Traditionally with the transfer window you see quite a few early deals after the season’s conclusion before it calms down throughout June. We are happy with the squad we have at the moment, with the scope to bring in one or two more if we want to.’

Clough has supposedly been tracking a number of players with strikers being the focus with James Vaughan, Gary Hooper and Billy Sharp all being heavily rumoured to be amongst those players he is interested in bringing to Pride Park. The Rams` manager has also targeted other areas though adding:

‘The right-hand side of midfield is an area we are looking at. We have six forwards on the books, and we hope it isn’t a case of three quarters of them being injured this time around.”
