Paul Jewell has insisted that Roy Carroll’s Derby career isn’t over yet, despite the fact that he has been suspended by the club for two weeks following their bust-up on Saturday.

‘Roy will come back in two weeks and providing his attitude is fine, which I am sure it will be, he will be considered again.

‘I have dealt with the matter the way I see fit and that is the end of it as far as I am concerned. We move on.

‘The episode did not affect our performance against Wolves.’

Jewell was quoted on ITV, speaking after the Wolves defeat.

Jewell, or anyone else connected with the club, is still to comment on exactly what it was that happened between the boss and the goalkeeper but it must have been something serious for him to be suspended, and something a little more than just disappointment at the defeat we had suffered.

Carroll has had his fair share of ups and downs in recent years, but this recent down could well prove the final one of his stay with us?
