The Evening Telegraph has reported that an approach to take Stephen Bywater on loan has been made to Derby from Leicester, but this has been rejected.

27-year-old Bywater was taken to Holland for the training camp and featured as a second half substitute in the defeat against TOP Oss on Friday, but with Roy Carroll likely to be ahead of him as the number one, and having spent the final four months of last season on loan with Ipswich, his future at Pride Park is far from assured.

Paul Jewell also has Lewis Price, who didn’t make the trip, but has admitted he doesn’t feel the need to have three senior goalkeepers on the books and will to offers for one of the two, but the loan approach from our rivals doesn’t seem to interest him.

  • Im an Ipswich fan and we had both Price and Bywater, they are quite simular keepers, but niether of them will be great in the Premiership. Price is probably the better overall keeper and younger!
