Craig Bryson has carried on where he left off last season with more top class performances this time around according to manager Nigel Clough.

Bryson won the supporters` and players` player of the year awards last season in his first campaign since joining from Kilmarnock last summer and his high energy performances in the centre of midfield caught the eye. Bryson has played as part of a two and three man central midfield as well as just off the striker already this season and he scored the only goal of the game against Nottingham Forest to win the East Midlands` derby at the end of last month. Talking to dcfc.co.uk about the Scottish midfielder Clough said:

“The way Craig is playing at the moment he is making it very easy for whoever plays in midfield alongside him; he has been superb. He`s got himself a few goals and assists already this season and although he`s having an influence on games it really shouldn`t be a shock, as he did that last year too. When you have a midfielder with that sort of energy, it gives you the flexibility to play different systems because he can be like a second striker at times.”
